frequently asked questions

Everyone is in the same boat when it comes to organising a wedding, I have been there myself and I know how it feels!! It can be quite daunting (presuming it is your first wedding!!) all the things you have too book and arrange and to be fair it is mostly up to the bride to do the majority of it!! I have only come across a few weddings where the groom is really involved!!

So there are loads of questions you need answers too!!  We obviously turn to family and friends who have been there and have done it already, recommending and referring people they have already worked with and were happy with.  So where photography is concerned here are a few questions I am regularly asked, hope this helps!!

If there is anything else I can help you with or you need recommendations for, cakes, stationary, video, or even ideas for your old, new, borrowed and blue!! I have seen some amazing ones!!  Please just ask… I am here to help where ever I can!!

Do you take posed group photos?

Yes I still do a small number of traditional family groups with both immediate families & Grand parents. These groupings are quick, easy, and I try to make them as relaxed as possible.  Around 8-10 family groupings usually works out well, if there is spare time before the meal I will certainly photograph extra groupings at your request.  I will take note of any important groupings that are important to you both so I capture them also. i.e. Friends/God parents etc.

Do you have a second-shooter?

For some weddings I may have a second shooter attending fore training purposes.  Normally I shoot alone but if you would like a second-shooter for grooms house etc, it can of course be organised for an extra fee.

How long does it take to get our images?

Your images are normally available within 6-8 weeks of the wedding date. (In peek season April -Sept, editing time may take a little longer) Albums are designed after this, you select the photos you would like in your album. Album designs must be proofed and signed off by you before sending to print.

How many photos will we get?

The number of photographs taken depends on many things – the number of guests, hours of coverage. On a full day of 8 hours shooting, the average is 500.

Do we get to keep the digital, printable files?

With all packages you will receive the  high-resolution digital files in an online gallery and a USB Flash drive. Denise Leacock retains the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competitions, website, and social media sites.  I only hold client images in storage up to two years. After this, I cannot guarantee they will still be available to you as ultimately, there is a limit on my storage space.

Will our Wedding photos be featured on your BLOG or portfolio?

Not all weddings are featured as wedding season is incredibly busy and featuring all the weddings is simply not possible or it may be featured later in the year, when there are less weddings to do. Please let me know ‘before you book’ if you wish to keep your wedding photos private.

Will we be charged extra for travel or accommodation?

I’m based in Magherafelt, County Londonderry.  If your wedding is over two hours away, there will be an additional travel charge and possibly an over night stay. All extra prices will be quoted before booking.

How do we pay?

A booking fee/deposit of £200 is due on booking to keep your date. The final amount is due 2 weeks before the wedding or cash on the day.  We can arrange a payment plan of three installments by bank transfer before the wedding if you prefer.

Do you require dinner?

Dinner is not required unless I am booked to cover your first dance.  No need for a full dinner just a light snack to keep my energy up for the remainder of the evening!

When will the Pre-wedding shoot take place and where?

Your pre-wedding session is available as soon as you book and deposit is paid, although as it is to help you get used to the camera and give you a trial run, it is best to have it closer to the wedding date as you will remember what is involved. It is fun so no need to get nervous or worried, my aim is to relax you as a couple and help you have some fun! Location is your choice and to be with in 1 hour travel from Magherafelt. (I also do Pre-wedding shoots in Fermanagh if preferred)

Do you offer discounts or special offers?

As I only book a small number of weddings in the year, these dates are exclusive and highly sought after. Therefore special offers for mid-week are not normally available unless you require less coverage or if you’re having a mid-week elopement.
