A Winter Wedding at Beech Hill Country House

One of the questions I hear most from couples planning a winter wedding is, “Will our photos still be nice in the winter?”

I have photographed many winter weddings, and I have had a little flurry of enquiries for next winter, so I thought I would show you a gorgeous winter wedding to see for yourselves.

After photographing a wedding at Beech Hill Country House, I can confidently say — absolutely yes.

Beech Hill is one of those venues that works beautifully in every season, but winter has its own kind of magic. The woodland paths, the lake, and the quiet corners of the grounds feel calm and atmospheric in the colder months. We never need to be outside for long — just a short wander is enough to create relaxed, natural couple portraits without you feeling cold or rushed.

My approach to wedding photography here is very much documentry. I let moments unfold naturally and step in only when needed. Winter weddings suit this style perfectly — there’s a cosier pace, more time spent together, and so many genuine moments happening indoors.

Winter light also deserves a mention. It’s softer, more flattering, and gives photos a timeless, cinematic feel. A winter wedding at Beech Hill Country House proves that you don’t need summer sunshine for meaningful, beautiful images — just a venue that works with the season and a relaxed approach to telling your story.
